Happy Veterans Day, everyone. We had a wonderful Veterans Day assembly on Friday. There were so many veterans and family members. It was very touching to see them with the students and the speaker was wonderful. She really helped the kids understand the importance of the day.
We are beginning Unit 2 about mythology and folklore. It will be fun for the students and it really seems to be something they are interested in. We will be doing reading groups and group work, as well as individual assignments. Please continue to encourage your students to complete their reading logs. We will begin working on book talks this quarter. Here are this week's assignments: Monday: DLR 4-M, context clues notes & "What Am I?" activity Tuesday: DLR 4-T, book talk notes, character description (using context clues & inferences) Wednesday: DLR 4-W, antagonist/protagonist activity Thursday: DLR 4-TH, themes activity, Ugly Duckling Word Detective w/s Friday: DLR 5-quiz, conflict/resolution, Secret Garden context clues w/s Clubs this week: Tuesday: Xtreme Readers, Hot Cocoa, 4-H Club Wednesday: Running Club Thursday: Cooking, Craft Friday: AM Choir, Adv. Lego Next Week: Monday – Band Instrument Night, 6-8 pm Thursday - Title Reading Night, 6 pm
