With all of the activities going on this week--Halloween, Fall parties, schedule changes, etc, I decided to move the Summative assessment to next week. Here are the new assignments for this Thursday and Friday:

Thank you to all parents who attended Parent/teacher conferences. I really enjoyed seeing you and visiting with you. I hope all enjoyed their three day weekend. It was a nice break. We have a lot of things to do this week, though. Please take note of all the things that are going on this week.
Here are this week's assignments: Monday: finish Peter Pan; comparison writing Tuesday: inferencing w/ evidence; summary review Wednesday: inferencing w/evidence; CUCC Thursday: Summative test Unit 1 (part 1) Friday: Summative test Unit 1 (part 2) Reminders: Weekly clubs resume this week. Tuesday: Extreme Readers Wednesday: Running club Thursday: Fall parties (start at 3:00) Friday: Please be safe if you are going trick-or-treating I hope everyone is loving the fall weather. I love opening the windows and letting in the cool air. I'm hearing about lots of activities--corn mazes, football games, fall parties, trick-or-treat plans. Hopefully, many of you are enjoying these activities.
The students have been working on their narrative writing and they are doing great. I have enjoyed reading their stories. Many of them have chosen to write their stories as if they are in the story. Remember when you read them, some of the students chose to write stories based on actual events and others chose to write an autobiography. We are going to finish those this week and review for our summative assessment. REMINDER: Parent/teacher conferences this week. Here are this week's assignments: Monday: Finish editing and revising narratives. Tuesday: pronoun review sheet; summary writing Wednesday: Peter Pan (students may wear pajamas that day) Thursday: Finish Peter Pan; compare different media Reminder: NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS THIS WEEK DUE TO CONFERENCES. Next week: Red Ribbon Week--students dress for each day. Congratulations to all who participated in the Sunshine Run. WIS had many students, parents, and teachers participate.

Please ask your child for his.her letter and get signed up. I look forward to meeting with all of you.
